We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as National Archives Interns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of archival work and cultural heritage preservation while contributing to meaningful projects that promote public access to historical records.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with the organization, cataloging, and preservation of archival materials.
Conduct research on various topics related to UK history, government, and culture.
Support outreach initiatives to engage the public with our collections through events, exhibitions, and educational programs.
Collaborate with staff members on special projects aimed at enhancing accessibility and usability of archival resources.
Contribute to the development of digital content and online resources to facilitate remote access to archival materials.
Attend training sessions and workshops to further develop skills in archival management, research methodologies, and cultural heritage preservation.

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant academic program (e.g., history, library science, archival studies, cultural heritage management).
Strong interest in UK history, archival research, and cultural heritage preservation.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in research methods and information literacy.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Prior experience or coursework in archival practices, museum studies, or related fields is desirable but not required.
